Dogwood Restaurant: A Beloved Destination for Home-Cooked American Breakfast and Brunch

Love this place. Never disappoints. Consistently good southern home cooked meals and great service. Don't skip the to-die-for cornbread!

Ate here on the recommendation from another business on the same street, Citizens Upholstery. Late lunch, early dinner. The food was delicious and fresh! Their homemade chips are amazing! I had a chicken wrap and hubby had a hamburger. His hamburger was huge! Service was great and very pleasant. Looks like they are expanding into next door and will have a patio! That will be awesome!

Great home cooked food with exceptional service. You need to arrive before or after 12 due to longer waits during peak lunch period .

First of all, I've never had a bad meal nor bad service. What they do to make their fried chicken taste sooo good, is a mystery. Their vegetables are really good especially the green beans. The hamburgers I've gotten are always cooked fresh. Their biscuits and gravy aren't the best I've ever had but better than any others in the area that I've tried. The servers are always kind even when the place is slammed with people. I just moved here from North Carolina and have found a friendly restaurant to call my special place to go for breakfast and lunch. I hope anyone reading this will give them a try. God Bless

Breakfast is a meal of the day that I like to eat in a clean and comfortable place, cooked homestyle, and served by a friendly waitress. The Dogwood Restaurant is precisely that kind of a place. I arrived there today for the first time. The ambiance was that of a neighborhood restaurant. By the movement of customers I could anticipate good food and good service. Jessica, the waitress, promptly welcomed me and handed me the menu and the cup of coffee I asked to start with. The eggs over medium with bacon and white toast. They were cooked just right and I had a very pleasant breakfast. Would definitely recommend this place and plan to come here more often.

I have eaten here since I was a kid. Very good biscuits and gravy, my favorite item on the menu. This morning I got the 2 fried eggs with a half order of biscuits and gravy, and left with 1 biscuit left over. Fried eggs are delicious and homemade. I enjoy watching my food being cooked right in front of me as well! I will definitely come back!

Efficient and kind staff. The place could be double the size and I think Vinton would keep it packed. Breakfast was delicious. Gravy was perfect, eggs were cheesy and wonderful. Pancakes were huge and almost tasted like there was some vanilla in them! Portions were large. Grateful to have a new favorite local place!
